MRS. LUCINDA WOOD PASSES

Aged And Respected West End Woman Died Friday And Was Buried Saturday

                Mrs.. Lucinda Wood, age 88, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Paintsville, died at the home of her son, Will Wood, in West Paintsville, Friday, August 13.

                Mrs.. Wood had been a citizen of Johnson county during her life and the past thirty years had resided in Paintsville with her sons. Due to her advanced age she had been in poor health for the past few years. About a year ago she had suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never regained consciousness and passed away last Friday.

                "Aunt Cinda" as she was familiarly known to her friends and relatives had always lived an exemplary Christian life and had the love and respect of her neighbors.

                She is survived by four living sons, her husband having preceded her to the Great Beyond many years ago. Three of the sons live in Paintsville. They are: Ben F Wood who conducts a store in West Paintsville, Jasper Wood of the Wood Studio and Will Wood, a local painter. Another son, James Wood lives on Middle Creek in Floyd County. All the children were present when the end come.

                Funeral services were held at the Wood home and were in charge of Rev A H Perkins of the Mayo Memorial Church. Internment was had in Highland Cemetery, overlooking Paintsville.
