Lowell Mack Ward
Funeral services were held at the Meade Memorial Gymnasium Sunday for Lowell Mack Ward, 21, of Boons Camp, who died on April 18 from wounds received in action in Korea. Henry Stamper, Dunlow WV and Newton Daniel, McDowell, Ky., were the officiating ministers.
Born September 8, 1931 he was the son of Mrs. Vinnie Fitch Ward and the late William Jeff S. Ward of Boons Camp. He was married July 6, 1951, to Lois Avonell Wallen, who survives. Surviving besides his wife and mother are three brothers, Seldon Hank Ward, Charleston WV, Jeff Sherman Ward, Williamsport and John P. Ward, Boons Camp; three sisters, Mrs. Shirley Preston, city, Mrs. Albert Lent, Washington DC and Mrs Betty Walters, Akron Ohio.
Graveside rites were conducted jointly by Johnson County Post 117, DAV Chapter 17, and the McKinley Arthur Post of Inez. Internment was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
