Kentucky Memorials
donated by Bud Caudle
The Kentucky Memorial was just completed a year or two ago. In the center
are statues of Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis to represent both Union
and Confederate units/soldiers who served there. On the wall surrounding the
memorial are the names and numbers of Kentucky units that were in the battle
both Union and Confederate.
D-Day Memorial aren't very good, but will give an idea of how
awesome it really is. It depicts soldiers coming out of the landing boat and
onto the beach. Some are dead, and some are still advancing. Mortar rounds
are heard, and water splashes up around them. Then, there are soldiers
climbing a rock wall. One has been shot and looks like he is in a lot of
pain. The flower display is in the shape and perfect colors of the unit shoulder patch.
