JAMES COLLINS PASSES TUESDAY
RITES TO BE THURSDAY FOR COUNTY RESIDENT
James Collins, 83, died Thursday morning at his home at Odds following a long
illness.
He was born in Johnson County on October 10, 1874. He was a member of the Church
of Christ. A
life-long resident of Odds, he was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Roberta Ratliff Collins, two sons, Conrad Collins, of
Dayton, Ohio and
Edward Collins of Boons Camp, one step-son, Elmo Ratliff of Detroit, Mich. and
four daughters,
Rose Dale of Weeksbury, Frances Music of Dayton, Ohio, and Bertha and Opal
Fields of Van Lear.
Also surviving are two brothers, Buddy Collins of Prestonsburg, and Marion
Collins, of Dayton,
Ohio, and one sister, Margarette Osbourne of Tram.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Church of Christ at Odds
with Leonard
Webb and Herschell Short as officiating ministers.
Burial will be made in the family cemetery at Odds.
