    Jack W. Preston, 67, of Canton, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 15 at his residence. Mr. Preston was born August 21, 1927, in Johnson County, the son of the late Clyde and Alma Rice Preston.  He was a Navy veteran, having served during World War II. He was retired from the Ashland Petroleum company where he was a treater/chemist and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

    Surviving are his wife, Darlene Sparks Preston; two daughters, Cathy Schaeffer and Franci Williams, both of Canton; one sister, Rita Petersen of San Jose, California; one brother, Kenneth Preston of Charleston, West Virginia; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 18 at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Carl Beighley officiating.

    Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Park at Canton, with Paquelet Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
