    S-Sgt. Jess Pennington, 27, died in Germany on May 12, 1945, from injuries sustained in a jeep accident on May 5, 1945, according to a War Department message to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clabe Pennington of Yatesville, Ky.

    S-Sgt. Pennington lived at Van Lear for many years.  He is the grandson of John Adams, Elna, and is married to Geneva Henneger of Wayland.  They have no children.  His many friends and relatives in this county will regret to learn of his untimely death.
