JOHN SCHROEDER DIES JANUARY 28 IN HUNTINGTON

    John Christian Schroeder, 69, former resident of Sitka, died in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Huntington, W. Va., January 28,(1960) at 8:30 p.m., following an extensive illness.

    The son of Fred C. and Eileen Schroeder, he was born May 7, 1890, in Charlotte, Iowa. Prior to his retirement he was an employee of the Kentucky-West Virginia Gas Co., and was a member of the Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Ora Mae Mead Schroeder, whom he married February 24, 1920 at Oil Springs; two sons, Phillip Schroeder, Bethesda, Maryland; Billy Joe Schroeder, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Teresa Buckley, San Luis Obispo, California.

    Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday from the chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home with Moses Kitchen and Thomas Reynolds as officiating ministers. Burial was in the Litteral Cemetery at Oil Springs.
