Herbert Witten

Herbert Francis "Pete" Witten, 77, died Monday, October 19, 1998 at his Staffordsville residence. Mr. Witten was born November 29, 1920, in Johnson Co., to the late Milton B. and Genoah Murphy Witten, He was retired from A.K. Steel (Armco) of Ashland and a World War II Army Veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline Harrington Witten; one son, Herbert Milton Witten, of Argillite; one daughter, Gloria Hall, of Argillite; one brother, Fred E. Witten, of Minford, Ohio; two sisters, Kitty Belle Sheets, of Paintsville; and Barbara Preston, of Miamisburg, Ohio; one grandson, Brant Hall; and an adopted granddaughter, Elizabeth Taylor.

A service was held on Friday, October 23, at Highland Memorial Funeral Chapel at Staffordsville, with Wallace Conley officiating. Internment in Highland Memorial Park, with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
