Henry B. Ward Died Suddenly
Brakeman on Big Sandy Passenger Train Drops Dead on Train Near Pikeville Saturday
Henry B Ward, age 38 years, a passenger brakeman on the Big Sandy Division of the C & O Railway Company died last Saturday afternoon while on the local passenger train coming in to Pikeville from Shelby. Ward made his regular run from Ashland to Elkhorn City last Saturday morning and seemed to be in perfect health. He was off duty after making the run and was enroute to Pikeville we here he expected to spend the night, going on to Ashland where he was going to assume his run Monday Morning. While on the train he was joking with friends when he suffered the heart attack and died suddenly.
His remains were brought to Paintsville Saturday evening, where they were prepared for burial a the Paintsville Furniture Company's undertaking establishment, Sunday evening they were shipped to Offutt where the funeral and burial occurred Monday afternoon.
He was well known in Paintsville and had many friends here who will receive the news with much regret.
