Could this be the same group of Robinson/Roberson where I have this William born abt 1740 son John Robinson m to Nancy Spears and a brother William Robinson unknown ??
Since my group of Robinson came out of Tn to Va onto KY, and our William Robinson died in Jonesboro Tn too.

Occupation 2: William Roberson II was elected the second presiding justice of the county court, and his son Mathew S. Roberson, was elect the fifth & last presiding justice under the old county court system.
Occupation 3: Wise Co., Elected Feb 16, 1856 William Roberson II was appointed by the act of the Commissioner to assist in the organization of the county, select a place for county seat & public buildings, help district the county & organize the first county moving.
Property: Roberson district, sometimes called the Pound district, was named after William Roberson.
Residence 1: Born in Jonesboro Tn. Remove to Scott Co. Va & married to Hannah Hutchinson. After 1832 removed to a farm where the present town of Wise is now located, which was then Russell Co. Va. After 1836 removed to Pound Va and settle on a farm there.
Residence 2: Court House in Wise Co. Va, was a two story original log building, afterward weather boarded, that stood on the northeast corner of Birchfield Ave, with its intersection with Main Street, and where "Shorty's Restaurant" is now located.

More About JUDGE JAMES MONROE ROBERSON:
Occupation 1: Free schools established by General Assembly of Va, after the Civil War. Taught school both Va and Ky, under license. Studied law at Gladeville, in the spring & summer of 1877 under the tutorage of the late Judge George W. Kilgore, of Wise Co.
Occupation 2: Editor of Mountain Eagle, published at Whitesburg, Ky, in its issue of Jan 28, 1915, under the heading " An Able Jurist," had this to say of Judge Roberson.
Occupation 3: Feb 22, 1921, Judge James Monroe Roberson, was made a member of the Kentucky Society, Sons of the American Revolution, at the Pendennis Club, Louisville, Kentucky, which was a high distinction.
Occupation 4: Grounds of fraud and of illegal voting by person from W Va, on the Tug River side of the county, & bribery, and was successful.
Occupation 5: He was again appointed circuit judge by Governor J. B. McCreary to held the office until the next election for office, the term ending the first Monday in January, 1916.
Occupation 6: In 1899, Judge Roberson finished writing the manuscript for a book, "The Criminal Law of Kentucky, which was published by W. W. Anderson & Co., of Cincinnati, Ohio, in two volumes.
