Frederick Baldwin
A native of Johnson County and lifelong resident of this city, he was born March 18, 1876, the son of the late George and Rhoda Dixon Baldwin. He died at age 75 on Nov. 9, 1951
He was a veteran of the Spanish American War, WW I. and a member of the Methodist Church. A retired blacksmith and farmer, at one time he operated a blacksmith shop and corn mill located on the creek bank behind the Grant Wheatley property. "Booner", as he was called by his many friends, was an old-time banjo player and was a popular figure at many of the social gatherings of the county.
