Services Held Thursday For Emit Bailey, 60, World War I Veteran
Emit Bailey, 60, died suddenly Tuesday morning, January 31, 1956 at his home at Flatgap. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
The son of D. B. and Rebecca Holbrook Bailey, he was born April 22, 1895, in Johnson
County.
He had been a resident of Flat Gap most of his life where he was engaged in farming. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by one brother, W. H. Bailey of Flat Gap.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, February 2, 1956 at the Flat Gap Enterprise Baptist Church with Lonza Reed as the officiating minister. Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
