Earl Cantrell
Earl Cantrell, 52, died August 16, 1949, at the home of his sister, Mrs. Georgia Bayes at West Van Lear.
Born in this county the son of Mrs. America Fields Cantrell and the late Ben Cantrell, he was a respected citizen of West Van Lear and well known throughout this section where most of his life was spent. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving besides his mother is one daughter, Mrs. Beverly Drake, Binghampton, N. Y, four sisters, Mrs. Verlie Fairchild, Hager Hill, Mrs. Laura Brooks, Huntington, W. Va., Mrs. Georgia Bayes, West Van Lear, and Mrs. Mary Hayes of Paintsville.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. C. Honeycutt at the Church of Christ in West Van Lear.
Burial was in the family cemetery on Burnt Cabin under the direction of the Jones FuneralHome.
