Hiram Tackett & Elexious Hawes Indenture 1846
This indenture made and entered into this 24th day of November 1846 between Elexious Hawes of the one part and Hiram Tackett of the other part both of the County of Johnson and State of Kentucky-
Witnesseth that the Said Hawes for and in consideration of the Sum of fifty dollars to him in hand paid hath this day granted bargained Sold and conveyed unto the Said Hiram Tackett a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid and on the waters of Big Paint Creek and Bounded as followeth (To wit) Begining on a beech Standing at the mouth of the maple branch on the right hand fork of the Rockhouse Branch thence a Westwardly course up the spur dividing the maple Branch and Rockhouse branch to the top of the Ridge dividing the Rockhouse and Calvins fork of Barnetts Creek, thence a Northwardly course with the top of Said Ridge to a chesnut oak Standing opposite the Begining thence a Straight line to the Begining Supposed to contain __ acres Which Said tract of land together with all and Singular the Benfits and envolvements thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining- I the Said Hawes do forever Warrant and defend unto the Said Tackett his heirs and assignes forever from me my heirs and assignes and all persons claiming under or through me and from William I Williams and his heirs But against no other claim Whatsoever--In testimony Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal the day above written

I John Hawes Clerk of the Johnson County Court do certify that this deed from Elexious Hawes To Hiram Tackett was this day produced to me and acknowledged by Said Hawes to be his hand and Seal act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned--and that the Same is duly Recorded in my office according to law given under my hand this day of 1847
