This info has been documented by The Floyd County Court Orders Vol. 6+7 1835-1847 film # 1837276 which I ordered and had copied. Will try my best to make this as clear as possible. Please forgive me if I miss a word or two.
October County Court 1841
Ordered that James Harris and Solomon G. Stratton be recommended to the executive of this State as proper and fit persons to fill the office of Surveyor of this County in place of Vincent Dawson Deceased. A majority of this county being present concurring in nomination.

Ordered that Jinsey Dawson and William Dawson have leave to obtain letters of administration of the estate of Vincent Dawson deceased who thereupon together with William G. Porter, Silas Ratliff, and James Harris entered into and acknowledge their bond in the penalty of $500? (is smudged and cannot tell whether 500 or 5 dollars) conditioned according to law who thereupon took the oath of administrators as required by law.
On the motion of Jinsey Dawson adminitratix and William Dawson administrator of the estate of Vincent Dawson deceased Ordered that Samuel Clarke Samuel Hanna Samuel Porter and Samuel Auxier or any three of them after being first duly sworn to appraise in current money all the personal estate of Said decedent and make report according to law.
