Mrs.. Wheeler Died Friday

Prominent Woman Dead after Long Illness

                Mrs.. Jno. W. Wheeler, age 51 years died at their home in Paintsville Friday night after a long ill ness. Her death had been expected fro many months, but the shock was great for loved ones who watched over her for the past several months.

                She was the daughter of the late J F Walker, a member of one of the oldest and best families. Thirty years ago she was married to Jno. W Wheeler, then a school teacher who is now Commonwealth's Attorney of the 24th Judicial District. Mrs.. Wheeler was a member of the Methodist Church and a consecrated Christian woman. Her life was spent doing good for her family and neighbors.. A few years ago she was afflicted and during all illness was patient and loving. In her death, Paintsville has lost a noble Christian character.

                In addition to her husband, she leaves one daughter, Mrs.. E H Adams who has been constantly with her mother for the past year.

                The funeral Sunday afternoon was held at the residence on Main street conducted by Rev. Foley, her pastor, assisted by the Rev Henry Sowards of the Mayo Memorial Church and Rev A H Webb of the Baptist Church. The floral offerings attested her popularity with those who knew her best and loved her for her noble deeds. A large crowd from the city and surrounding territory attended the funeral.

                One sister, Mrs.. Jon Dixon of Paintsville and one brother Fred Walker of Wenatchee, Washington survive her. The family has the sympathy of the entire community,

Clark Fairchild of Ashland. Mrs. Arbie Weaver of Louisa, Mrs. W, M Skaggs, Louisa and Dr and Mrs. J C Wheeler and children of Cannel City.

                She was buried in the city cemetery by the sire of her father who died several years ago.
