C. M. COOPER PASSES AWAY

Prominent Citizen died Monday night after years of Suffering

C M Cooper, age 75 years, died last night in the Golden Rule Hospital in Paintsville. Mr. Cooper had been suffering from an incurable disease for the past seven years. A few days ago he was take to the hospital when it became necessary for Mrs. Cooper to go to Cincinnati for treatment. She is now fairly sick and was not able to attend to attend the funeral/

Mr. Cooper was one of Paintsville's leading citizens and before his long illness was engaged in the lumber business here. Many years ago he was on the drug business and operated the first drug store in Paintsville. He was a member of the Mayo Memorial Church and for many years was a teacher of the Men's Bible Class.

The funeral and burial Wednesday was largely attended. rev. Henry Sowards, pastor of the Mayo Memorial Church, had charge of the funeral and burial. The remains were interned in the Wells-Buckingham Cemetery in Bridgeford Addition.

He leaves one daughter, Miss Olga Cooper, who was with her mother at the time of her father's death, but arrived here Tuesday to attend the funeral. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. D J Wheeler of this city, Allie Cooper and Mrs. Floyd Hall of Magoffin county, and four brothers, J H Cooper of this city, W W Cooper, Stormy Cooper and D B Cooper of Magoffin county.

The family has the sympathy of all. They have had more than their share of sickness and trouble during the past few years.
