SGT. CHESTER WARD

    Sgt. Chester Ward, shown above, was killed in action in France on July 15, 1944. He was 21 at the time of his death and enlisted in the Army on October 1, 1940, going overseas on March 1, 1944. Son of Mrs. Myrtle Gonker of Dayton, Ohio and the late Herschell Ward of Williamsport.

    Sgt. Ward attended Meade Memorial School and had many friends in the vicinity of Williamsport and Boons Camp.

    Memorial services will be held in his honor at the Cedar Grove United Baptist Church, West Van Lear, on July 15th by Revs. John W. Crum, Elzie Banks and L. T. Preston.

The public is invited to attend these services.
