The Will of James H. Blanton

Be it remembered that on this 2nd day of May, 1905 I, James
H. Blanton, being weak in body but strong in mind, made this my last will and
testament:
I will my sole to God who gave it.
I will all the following real estate to my dughters tow___ Martha Jane McKenzie,
Lydia McKenzie, and Anna McCarty beginning as the mouth of the Glade Branch,
thencee up to same to the mouth of Fur Gutt, thence up the same to the road
ontop fo the cliff to the old line between the Elias Davis farm and myself; and
with said line up the branch to the top of the hill and to the John Colvin line;
thence southeast course with said line to a black oak corner on the bank of
Colvin Branch; thence with the same on top of the cliff next to the branch to
the mouth of Colvin Branch-to Paint Creek; and with said course and up the same
to the beginning. I will the same to them-to have equal shares in the same.
I will to my son, James M. Blanton all the following real estate:- Beginning on
Bill and Ben Blanton's corner; and with Bill Blanton's line and with the same
Northwest course to the road; and with the road to the gap to James McCarty's
line; and with the same to the mouth of the Glads Hollow-to Forest Colvins line;
and with the same north course up the hill to the top; then with the ridge to
Ben Blanton's line; and with the same to the beginning.
I will to my son, George W. Blanton, all the following realestate, to towit:-
Beginning on Bill Blanton's corner at the foot of the hill opposite the Turnip
Pack Bank, thence with his line across the bottom to said Turnip Pack Bank and
with his line up the hill to the top; and with the top of ridge to Taylor
Simmon's line to the low gap in the ridge at the head of Puncheon Branch; thence
southwest down the branch with its meadows to the forks; thencee down the main
branch to the next forks, thence up the branch with its meadows to the same to
the top of the ridge-to James McCarty's line; and with the same southeast course
to the road in the gap, and with the road and James M Blanton's line to the
beginning; so as to include all the lands inside of said boundary.
I will to my son S.L. Blanton and my daughter Mary Gullettm the following real
estate, beginning at the head of the Puncheon Branch; G.W. Blanton's corner and
line; and with his line southwest down the hill to the branch, and still with
the same to the top of the ridge to the line of James McCarty, thence
runningnorth course with the top of the ridge around the heads of the branches
to the beginning Said Mary Gulletts line begins as the beginning corner of this
tract; and down the hill to the fences of the branch; thence up up the hill and
fork paint to the top of the hill; and with the top of the hill to the
beginning. Mary Gullett is to have this piece, and S.L. Blanton the other piece.
I make this conditional line myself
I will all the following real estate to my sons, Elias Blanton and Jno. E.
Blanton and S.H. Blanton. Elias Blanton to have the old survey of 50 acres and
J.E. Blanton and S.H. Blanton to have the Cox farm equal between the two.
I also will all the cattle and hogs to my son Ben Blanton
I also will my mare to to my daughter Martha Jane McKenzie, at my death, if said
mare is yet on the farm-
As I have hencetofore helped some of my children and others none,- I think I
have treated them all right.
Believeing that I have done all my children right and just, I beg and pray for
them to be satisfied and content, and I ask and beg and pray you, children, to
do right, and remember me and your good mother.
With this I bid you good-bye til we meet again.
I want B.L. Davis to take care of this will and have it put to records.

The foregoing will of James H. Blanton was presented for probate at the October
Term, 1905 at the Johnson County Court, and the execution thereof duly ------ by
the oath of B.L. Davis-one of the attesting witnesses thereto, who testified to
the attestation of the other attending witnesses, Ben Blanton and W.R. Blanton;
whereupon said will was probated, and ordered to records.
Ab=nd the same has been this day duly recorded witness my hand, this November
10, 1905
