Burns Whitaker
The above is the likeness of Burns Whittaker, of White House, Ky. He was the son of Henry C and Gardia (Preston) Whitaker. He was born at Whitehouse and had spent his entire life in that vicinity. For a life profession Burns had chosen railroad work and was known to be highly skilled in his profession.
On August 15, he figured in a car wreck in which he received serious burns. He was rushed to Golden Rule Hospital where the most skilled medical aid was used but alas all had to stand back and he died on October 14.
The body was brought to the Preston Funeral Home where it was prepared for burial and immediately taken to the home of his mother at which place the funeral services were held on the 16th of October. Immediately after the services the body was laid to rest in the family cemetery.
He leaves to mourn their loss besides his mother, two sons and a daughter, William Ralph and Henry Hansel and Imogene, five brothers, Howard, Charles, Hobart, Fred and Robert; two sisters, Mrs. E.B. Murray and Mrs. Fred Wiley.
He died being 32 years, 6 months and 14 days old.
