Thelma Youth Is Killed On Luzon
Alonzo Lynch of Thelma was notified Saturday, May 5, 1945, by the War Department that his son, Pfc. Lucian P. Lynch, died on Thursday, March 22, 1945, on Luzon, Philippines Islands, as a result of wounds received in action on Friday, March 16, 1945. Pfc. Lynch had been in the Pacific area more than a year. A brother, Jack Martin Lynch, serves with the Coast Guard and returned in the fall from the Pacific where he had been stationed twenty-one months. Jack suffered eight attacks from malaria and is now regaining his health at a hospital in Indiana.
