When I first started doing family research online last December, it was only to help my son because he was frustrated in his progress. He has always been the family history enthusiast in the family since he was very young. He's 35 now and still loves researching the family. My main desire for myself was to find my Mom's father, Horatio Seymour Boling, whom she never knew, and possibly get a picture of him just so I would know what he looked like. Well, my prayers were answered beyond my wildest dreams. I owe a great debt of gratitude to the members of the Johnson Co Reunion list, the Johnson Co list, helpful volunteers in Salem, Indiana; Vancouver, Washington; the Wayne Co, WV vital records clerk, and especially to Walter Preston, H. S. Boling's great grandson. He sent me the key that eventually unlocked the mysterious door that my Grandpa has been hiding behind all my life. I only wish my dear little Mom could be alive to know all this wonderful information about her Dad.

H S Boling was married twice and had three families. First family in Johnson Co, KY with Sarah Blevins produced these children: Walter, Gertrude, and Fred. Second family with Trinnie Ward in Johnson Co, KY produced two daughters: Goldie May and Sara "Frankie" Francis. Third family with second marriage to Dorsie Sanders in Indiana produced 10 children, among whom were Warren and Harold who are deceased.
