Woman Shot in Neck Dies
Mrs. Adam Wireman of Magoffin county was brought to the Paintsville Hospital one month ago with a gunshot wound to the neck died at the hospital last Friday and the remains were taken back to Magoffin County last Saturday for Burial.
It will be remembered that the bullet which caused the death of Mrs. Wireman, severed the spinal cord, going directly through her neck just above her shoulders. Her body was paralyzed from the next down but she was able to live in this condition and give her statement of the shooting which she claims her brother in law, Joe Wireman, and his wife, and a man by the name of Pinks were in the crowd when the shooting occurred and that two of them were firing at her as she passed on a mule with a small boy of her husband by a former marriage.
The case of Mrs. Wireman had been a puzzle to the doctors who were powerless to help her. Usually three days is the life of a person with a dislocated spine in this manner but she lived for thirty.
In giving her statement Mrs. Wireman said that she was passing the home of her relatives with a small child of her husband by another marriage when they fired upon her with high powered rifles and she was shot from her mule. She said she had had trouble with her sister-in-law a few days previous.
Warrants have been issued for Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wireman and Pinks and the warrants were sent to Magoffin County. They will be indicted by the grand jury in Circuit Court this week and all three of them will be tried in Johnson County. Joe Wireman is under bond in Magoffin county in another offense aid to be committed in the county.
This is the second wife Adam Wireman has had murdered in Magoffin County. His first wife was killed in a similar manner a few years ago.
