This deed made and entered into January 29, 1879, by and between Elisha J. Durbin of the town of Princeton in the county of Caldwell and state of Kentucky, party of the first part, and Elizabeth Mullen, widow of John Mullen, decreased, and Mary C. Mullen, Frances E. Mullen, Margaret A. Mullen, and Sarah E. Mullen, heirs at law of said John Mullen, deceased, of Hickman County in the state of Kentucky, parties of the second part. Witnesseth that whereas the said E. J. Durbin, party of the first part, sold and by deed with clause of general warranty conveyed to the said John Mullen in his lifetime at the price of three hundred dollars which was paid by the said Mullen to the said Durbin the east half of the northeast quarter of section two township three range two west, estimated to contain eighty acres, more or less, on the waters of the Obion in the county of Hickman in the state of Kentucky, and whereas said deed has been lost or mislaid, so that it cannot be found, and has never been recorded; and whereas the said John Mullen has died intestate since the execution of said deed, leaving surviving heirs, his widow and heirs at law, who are the said parties of the second part. Now therefore in consideration of the premises and to establish the title to said land in the said widow and heirs of the said John Mullen in the same manner and to the same extent and with the same rights in each of them as if this deed had been executed to the said John Mullen in his lifetime and not otherwise the said party of the first part hereby grants and conveys to the said parties of the second part the said land above described according to their respective rights---as the widow and heirs at law of the said John Mullen decreased to have and to hold with all its appurtenances with them the said parties of the second part according to their respective rights-- as aforesaid forever with general warranty. Witness the signature of said party of the first part the date first above written.

I, Frank A. Pasteer, Clerk of the Caldwell County Court, do certify that the foregoing deed from Elisha J. Durbin to John Mullen's heirs, was this day produced to me in my office, and acknowledged by Elisha J. Durbin to be his act and deed, and ordered to be certified to the Clerk of the Hickman County Court for record, all of which is hereby accordingly done. Witness my hand, this 29 day of January 1879.

I, Smith R. Taylor, Clerk of the County Court for the county and state aforesaid, do certify that this deed from E. J. Durbin to Elizabeth Mullen was produced to me in my office on the day of February 1879 and ordered to record. Whereas said deed together with this and the certificate of the Clerk of Caldwell County Court has been duly recorded in my office, given under my hand this 12 day of March 1879.
