Thomas & Isabella M Rash to William A Jackson - Deed Book N Pages 229-230
This deed between Thomas Rash and Isabella M Rash of the County of Hickman and state of Kentucky of the first part and William A Jackson of the county and state aforesaid of the second par. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and the promissory notes of the said W.A. Jackson bearing dates 9th November 1867, for the sum of two hundred and fifty five dollars, and the other for five hundred and ten dollars due December 25 1868 the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged do hereby sell grant and covey to the part of the second part his heirs and assigns the following described property viz, a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Hickman County Kentucky containing Eighty one acres off the South East part of the tract on which said Isabella M Rash now resides, said tract being in metes and bounds as follows to wit. Beginning at a sweet gum and elm to the S.E. corner of said tract of land thence N ½° W 209 3/0 fo to a poplar dogwood and elm & stake – thence S 84º 37’ W 66 poles to a stake thence S ¼º E 183 poles to W S gum with two B Gum pointers thence S 72º E 70 poles to the beginning. It is understood that this deed is made in lieu of a deed formerly made by the said parties of the first part to said W.A. Jackson of record in the clerks office of the Hickman county court Deed book “M” page 437. Said deed not giving the proper metes and bounds of the tract thereby intended to be conveyed and the acceptance of this conveyance renders null & void the said deed before mentioned and the said Jackson quits claim to all the land conveyed by said other deed for & surrenders all right title or claim to the same and the title to said land conveyed by said deed is hereby (ly?) said Jackson conveyed to said Isabel M Rash- to have and to hold the same with all the appurtenances thereon to the second party his heirs and assigns forever with covenant of general warranty.

State of Kentucky County of Hickman
I Tho M Kempo clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid do certify that on the 14th day of August 1868 the foregoing deed was acknowledged and delivered by Thomas Rash and Isabella M Rash to be their act and deed before Wm Cook ry agent duly authorized deputy in said county, as appears from an endorsement hereon in the handwriting of my said deputy in these words viz, “ Acknowledged by Thomas Rash and Isabella M Rash privately questioned according to law Augt 14th 1868” – Thomas Kempo Hickman County Court by Wm Cook of which deed delivered stamped as required by Act of Congress, and that I have recorded it and this certificate in my said office-
