John Farrington to N.F. Davis
This Indenture, made and entered into this 22 day of November 1861 between John
Farrington and Ann Farrington his wife of the county of Hickman and State of
Kentucky of the first part and Noah F. Davis of the County and State aforesaid
of the second part. Witnesseth that the parties of the first part have this day
for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars in hand paid the
receipt of which is hereby acknowledged given granted bargained and sold and by
these presents do sell and convey unto the part of the second part his heirs and
c. the following tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County
and State aforesaid on the road leading from Clinton to Feliciana and bounded as
follows (to wit) It being part of Section 30, and lying in the Northeast corner
of the South east Quarter of Section 30, Township 2, Range 2 West, beginning at
a Hickory sapling, thence south 29 poles to a stake, thence west 27 6/10 poles
to a stake, thence North 29 poles to a hickory and white oak sapling, thence
East 27 6/10 poles to the beginning, containing five acres. To have and to hold
said tract of land unto the party of the second part, his heirs and c. with
clause of general warranty. In testimony whereof, the parties of the first part
have hereunto set their hands and seals, the date above written.

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Hickman County seat} I, E.R. Ray, Clerk of the County
Court for said County certify that this deed fro John Farrington and Ann
Farrington his wife to Noah F. Davis was on the 22 day of November 1861 by John
Farrington and on the 24th day of same month by Ann Farrington his wife produced
to me in my county and acknowledged by said grantors to be their act and deed
and said deed with this certificate has been duly committed to record in my
office this 16 day of January 1862. E.R. Ray, CHCC.
Note: Feliciana is just across the eastern Hickman Co. border in Graves County,
the site of present day Water Valley.
