This Indenture made and entered into this 13th day of September in the year 1852
between JAMES M. LOCKRIDGE of the state of Mississippi of the one part and JOHN
H. BYASSEE of the other part Witnessoth? that the said JAMES M. LOCKRIDGE for
and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred dollars cash in hand paid the
reciept whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained & sold and by
these presents doth grant bargain sell and convey unto the said JOHN H. BYASSEE
his heirs and assigns the following tract or parcel of land situated and being
in the county of Hickman and State of Kentucky on the waters of the Obion creek
known and designated as the Lockridge place it being a part of DABNEYS survey
off one thousand acres Beginning at the N. E. corner at 2 white oaks and running
in a Southerly direction to 3 elms thence westerly to a hickory Thence North to
a red oak Thence easterly to the beginning The same containing fifty acres
the said corners and lines of the boundary of the said fifty acres of land being
plainly marked The said BYASSEE to have and to hold the aforesaid tract or
parcel of land with all and singular? the appurtenances? thereunto belonging or
in any wise appertaining and The said JOHN M. LOCKRIDGE for himself his heirs
Executors administrators and assigns doth and will by these presents forever
warrant and defent the title of the aforesaid tract of land hereby conveyed unto
the said JOHN H. BYASSEE his hiers and assigns against the claims of all and
every person or person whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said JAMES M.
LOCKRIDGE together with his wife MARGARETT LOCKRIDGE who hereby relinquishes her
right of dower in and to the aforesaid tract of land have set their hand and
seals this day and date first above written
