Deed of Mortgage
Know all men by these presents that I, Nathan Jackson, of the county of Hickman and Commonwealth of Kentucky, for and in consideration that William Moore is my security in Appeal Bond in the Clerk Office of the Hickman County Court for the sum of $80, and for and in consideration that William Jackson is my Security in two Appeal Bonds in favor of N.R. Dodge and against me, back amounting to about the sum of $100, aforesaid in consideration that the said William Jackson is also my security in a note for about $100 executed to Martin Roby, but which has since been transferred to William Ridge, and for the further consideration that the said William Moore is alas security on a note which Daniel Jackson holds against me for the sum of $10. I have this day bargained and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and sell all my present crop Consisting of corn and Tobacco, to the said William Moore and the Said William Jackson. To have and to hold to themselves, their heirs, executors or administrators forever, Signed sealed and dated this 25th day of September 1849. The condition of the above obligation is such that if the said Nathan Jackson Shall save harmless the said William Moore and the said William Jackson from paying any of the aforesaid debts, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue according to Law.

I, WHH Taylor, clerk of the County Court for the county aforesaid do certify that the foregoing Deed of Mortgage from Nathan Jackson to William Moore and William Jackson was on the 25th day of September 1849, produced to me in my Office and acknowledged by the said Nathan Jackson to be his act and deed, whereupon said deed with this certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my Office.
