Know all men by these presents that I JOHN E. WINFREY and LUCY WINFREY consort
of JOHN E. WINFREY are held and firmly bound unto JOHN H. BYASSEE in the penal?
sum of eight hundred dollars the payment whereof well and truly to be made and
done I the said JOHN E. WINFREY and LUCY WINFREY to hereby bind ourselves our
heirs executors and assigns jointly and severally and firmly by these presents.
Given un our hands this ninth day of August Eighteen hundred and forty seven now
the conditions of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound JOHN
E. WINFREY and LUCY WINFREY has this day for and in consideration of two hundred
dollars that we have been due the above JOHN H. BYASSEE ever since the year
eighteen hundred and twenty six but has been always willing to pay the same but
has never been able until now we have this day bargained and sold to the above
JOHN H. BYASSEE all our entire
interest in the following tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in
the county of Hickman Kentucky known by the name of WINFREY old place now in the
possession of L. K. FOWLKES on the border of Cane Creek bounded by SAMUEL
RENNICKS and S. BALDWIN and others that we have inherited by the supposed death
of our son MARBLE WINFREY: if it so turns out that our son MARBLE WINFREY is not
dead the above obligation is null and void otherwise they will remain in full
force and virtue and we the said JOHN E. WINFREY and LUCY WINFREY do hereby for
another consideration assign to the above JOHN H. BYASSEE the following property
to wit one dark roan m__ calf now in the possession of the above JOHN H. BYASSEE
together with all our household and kitchen furniture and the interest that L.
K. FOWLKES
is due the estate of Marble Winfrey or will hereafter be due for the rent or
damages now the above named JOHN H. BYASSEE does hereby on his part agree to
furnish board and rayment? for the above JOHN E. BYASSEE and LUCY WINFREY so
long as they shall live: they are to live in the house with the said JOHN H.
BYASSEE as 2 of his own family, the above named JOHN E. WINFREY does on his part
agree to stay at home and be steady and do reasonable work at any time the said
JOHN H. BYASSEE wants him to do when he is able free of all charges the above
JOHN H. BYASSEE is from this day forward to hold full possession of all the
above premises to dispose of all or any of them as he may think fit the rights
and titles of the above named property we will forever warrant against all
others from this day forward. Given under our hands and seals the day and date
above.

State of Kentucky Hickman County ___ I, W. H. H. TAYLOR Clerk of the County
Court for the County aforesaid do certify that this deed from JOHN E. WINFREY
& LUCY WINFREY his wife to JOHN H. BYASSEE was on the 21 day of August 1847
produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said

JOHN E. WINFREY to be his and deed and on the 5 day of September 1847 the said
LUCY WINFREY being examined by me privily and and apart from her husband
declared she did freely and willingly seal and deliver the said writing again
shown and explined to her to be her act and deed and consenteth that the same
may be recorded whereupon the said deed together with this certificate hath been
duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 27 day of
September 1847.
