William and Jane Jackson to William McClendon - Deed Book G Page 212
This deed made the 1st day of May 1847 between William Jackson and Jane Jackson his wife of Graves County KY of the one part and William McClendon of the county of Hickman and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jackson and wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said McClendon his heirs & assigns forever the following described tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Hickman state aforesaid known by its own as follows to wit, The east half of the North east quarter section 25 of Township 3 Range 2 West containing 80 acres be the same more or less together with all & singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging on or otherwise appertaining to have & to hold the above named land to said McClendon his heirs assigns forever. And I the said William Jackson for myself my heirs do hereby covenant to unto the said McClendon to warrant & forever defend the title to the land hereby conveyed from the claims of all person whatever. In Testimony whereof I have together with my wife Jane Jackson who hereby relinquishes her right of dower in & to the land hereby conveyed hereunto set our hands & seals the date above written.

I, Erwin Anderson, clerk of the county court of Graves County state of Kentucky do certify that this deed from WM Jackson and Jane his wife to William McClendon was on this day acknowledged before me by the said William Jackson to be his act and deed & she the said Jane Jackson being examined privily and apart from her husband declared on such privy examination that she did freely & willingly seal & deliver the said writing & wished not to retract it & acknowledged the same again shown & explained to her to be her act & deed & consenteth that the same may be recorded which with this certificate is hereby certified to the proper office for record where the premises lie. Given under my hand May 1 1847.

I, WHH Taylor clerk of the county court for the County aforesaid do certify that this deed from William Jackson and Jane Jackson his wife to William McClendon was on the 3 day of May 1847 filed in my office for record. Whereupon the said deed together with the certificate of the Clerk of Graves County Court & this certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 19 day of July 1847.
