This
Indenture made entered into this the 5th of December 1853 between John C.
Elliott of the county of Hickman and State of Kentucky of the one part and Silas
Sissle of the county and state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said John S. Elliott, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars in hand paid the receipt,
where of is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, and sold and by these
presents doth grant, bargain, and
sell unto the said Silas Sissle, his heirs,
and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the
county of Hickman and state of Kentucky; it
being the east part of the southeast quarter of section 16, J, 2, R, 2, W and
bounded as follows:
viz,
beginning at the Southeast corner of said Section,
thence North 1degree East, 161 poles to a red oak, white oak, and
sassafras; thence, South 87
3/4degrees West, 79 3/4 poles to a poplar and white oak ; thence, South 1 degree
West, 161 1/4 poles to a gum and ash; thence, North 87degrees, 35 minutes East,
79 3/4 poles to the beginning; containing eighty acres, more or less together,
with all and singular the appurtenances there unto belonging, to have and hold
the land hereby and conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said Silas Sissle,
his heirs, and assigns forever. And
the said John C. Elliott for himself, his heirs, etc., the aforesaid tract of
land and appurtenances unto the said Silas Sissle, his heirs, and assigns
against the claim or claims of all; and every person or persons whatsoever doth
and will forever warrant and and
defend by these presents. For where
of the said John C. Elliott hath here unto so his hand and seal the day and date
above written.

G. Wm. Rennick, Clerk of the Hickman County Court in the state of Kentucky do
certify that this day from John C. Elliott to Silas Sissle was on the 5 day of
December 1853 acknowledged before me in my office by said Elliott to be his act
and deed, and said deed with this
certificate has been duly recorded in my office.
