Akin & Elizabeth Killingsworth to Archibald Brown - Deed Book C Pages 41-42
This Indenture made this 9th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five between Akin Killingsworth of the County of Graves and Commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and Archibald Brown of the County of Hickman and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Akin Killingsworth for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and twenty dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Archibald Brown his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of Hickman on the waters of Bayou de Chien and bounded as follows to wit: being the Northeast quarter of section twenty township two range two west containing one hundred and sixty acres be the same more or less together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the Land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said Archibald Brown his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Akin Killingsworth for himself his heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of land and appurtenances unto the said Archibald Brown his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever warrant and defend by these presents in witness whereof the said Akin Killingsworth together with Elizabeth Killingsworth his wife who hereby relinquishes her right of dower in and to the lands conveyed in this deed hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date first above written.

We Thomas B Brown and James Cochran two of the Commonwealth Justices of the Peace for said County do certify that Elizabeth Killingsworth the wife of the within named Akin Killingsworth, this day personally appeared before us who being examined privily and apart from her husband as the law directs voluntarily with her own free will and consent relinquishes her right of to the premises conveyed by this deed and the same is certified to the clerk of the County Court for the County of Graves for record where the premises lie. Given under our hands and seals this 9thday of March 1835.

Graves County To Wit:
I John Anderson clerk of the court for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that this deed from Akin Killingsworth to Archibald Brown was on this day proven before me by the oaths of James Cochran & Thomas B Brown to get the act and deed of the said Akin Killingsworth where upon the same is certified to the clerk of the County Court of Hickman County where the land lies there to be recorded. Given under my hand this 12th day of March 1835.

I, Henry L Edrington, clerk of the county court for said county do certify that the foregoing deed from Akin Killingsworth & wife to Archibald Brown was produced to me and admitted to record forever the certificates of John Anderson clerk of the Graves county court whereupon the same together with the certificates of Thomas B Brown James Cochran and John Anderson with the foregoing hath been duly recorded in my office.
