Owen S & Martha Jackson to James Cash - Deed Book B Pages 547-548
This indenture made this 25 day of October in
the year 1834 between Owen S Jackson of the county of Hickman and commonwealth
of Kentucky of the one part and James Cash of the county and commonwealth
aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Owen S Jackson for and in
consideration of three hundred dollars paid in hand the Receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presence doth
grant bargain and sell unto the said James Cash his heirs and assigns all that
tract or parcel of land situated and being in the county of Hickman on the
waters of Little Obyne creeks and binding as follows towit it being the South
East quarter of Land in section 2 township 3 north range 2 west containing 160
acres of land be the same more or less together with all and singular the
appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to
hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenance unto the said James Cash for
heirs and assigns forever, and the said Owen S Jackson for himself, his heirs
executors and administrators, the aforesaid tract of land and appurtenances unto
the said James Cash his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and
every person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever warrant and defend by
these presents. In witness whereof the Owen S Jackson together with Martha
Jackson his wife do hereby relinquish her right of dower in and to the land
herein conveyed in this deed hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and
date above written.

We, Edmund T Wright and Joseph Grundy two of the Commonwealth Justices of the
Peace for Said County do certify that Martha Jackson the wife of within named
Owen S Jackson this day personally appeared before us who being examined privy
and apart from her husband as the law directs, voluntarily with her own free
will consent relinquished her right of dower to the premises conveyed by this
deed and the same is certified to the clerk of the county court for the county
of Hickman for Record where the premises does.

I Henry L Edrington clerk of the
county court for the county aforesaid do certify that the foregoing deed from
Owen S Jackson to James Cash was produced to me on the 2nd day of
March 1835 and Proven by the oath of E.T. Wright and again produced on the 1st
day of June 1835 and fully proven by the oath of Joseph Grundy subscribing
witnesses thereto to be the act and deed of said Jackson.
Whereupon said Deed together with the foregoing certificate hath been duly
recorded in my office.
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 9th day of June
1835.
