This indenture made and entered into this the 1st
day of March in the year AD 1834 Between John Swayne of the county of Hickman
and state of Kentucky of the one part and Joshua Swayne of the same county and
state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of
the sum of five thousand six hundred dollars by the said Joshua unto the said
John in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said John
Swayne hath bargained sold aliened and conveyed and doth by these presents
bargain sell alien and convey unto the said Joshua Swayne his heirs a certain
steam saw and grist mill situate on the Bank of the Mississippi River in the
Town of Columbus Hickman County Kentucky the same ground on which said Steam Saw
and grist Mill now stands and was placed by Virtue of act or ordinance of the
Trustees of said Town in favour and for the benefit of said John Swayne and
Price Edrington and also the one half of lots of ground situate in said Town and
known and designated on the plan of said Town as Lots No. 1 & 5 ((one &
five) and also one half of lot No. 4 (four) situate in said Town. To have and to
hold the aforesaid Steam saw and grist mill and said one half of Lot of ground
No. 19 (nineteen) with all and singular the appurtenances then unto belonging or
in anywise appertaining thereto unto the said Joshua Swayne his heirs and
assigns forever in fee simple free from the claim or claims of all and every
person or persons whatsoever claiming by through or under him the said John
Swayne his heirs & assigns. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand
and seal the day and year above written attested.

I Henry L Edrington clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid do
certify that the foregoing deed from John Swayne to Joshua Swayne to be his act
and Deed whereupon the said Deed together with the foregoing certificate hath
been duly recorded in my office. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my
hand this 14th of November 1834.
