Know all men by these presents that
we, William Helm and Isaac N Helm for and in consideration of the sum of Fifteen
hundred dollars to us in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged
hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and
sell unto Thomas Helm his heirs or assigns the following named Negro salves and
property towit: one Negro woman
named Peggy aged about thirty years & her four children towit Tabitha about
aged 11 years old girl, Milly about 9 years, Henry aged about 6 years, started
girl aged about two years, also two sorrel horses aged about seven years old
each, also one gray mare and colt about eight years old, one Bay Horse cald two
years old, one yoke work cattle, 15 head of other cattle, 5 cows & calves,
and the Balance young cattle, four feather beds and furniture, one hour clock,
one cherry cupboard, chest two trunks , doz
chairs, two pots, two kettles, one skillet, also a stack of hays
consisting of about 60 head, also a variety of farming utensils consisting of
three plows, four axes, fives traces, and three pair geers, one wagon &
harness. To have and to hold the same to the said Thomas Helm his heirs or
assigns we will forever warrant and defend from the claims of ourselves our
heirs & it being the property purchased by us of said Helm in Oct 1830 &
now in his said Thomas Helms possession. In Testimony whereof we have hereunto
set our hands & seals this 8th day of July 1833.

I Henry L Edrington clerk of the
county court for the county aforesaid do certify that the foregoing Bill of Sale
or release from William & Isaac N Helm to Thomas Helm was produced to me on
the 9th day of July 1833 and acknowledged by the said grantors to be
their act and Deed whereupon the same together with the foregoing certificate
hath been duly admitted to record in my office. In testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand this 28th day of January 1834.
