Commonwealth of Kentucky vs Otho Hardin
The Commonwealth of KY Hickman County and Circuit Set:
The Grand Jurors, duly empanelled, sworn and charged to enquire for said Commonwealth, and the body of the County aforesaid at the October term of the Hickman Circuit Court in the year 1839 upon their oaths present that Otho Hardin late of said county, yeoman, on the 15th day of October in the year eighteen hundred and thirty nine and for and during three months then next procedding to wit at the court & circuit aforesaid did then & there fail to keep clear of obstruction and in good repair that part of the public roads from the house of him the said Hardin to the county line on the road leading from the Town of Clinton to (Februance?) he the said Otho Hardin being then and there the overseer of said precinct in contrary to the form of the statue in that case made and provided, and against the peace and dignity of said Commonwealth.
Information given by Thomas Salla of the Grand Jury & Samuel Bose not of the Grand Jury, farmer residing in Hickman County.

To the Sheriff of Hickman County, Greeting:
We command you to summon Otho Hardin to appear before the Judge of our Hickman Circuit Court, at the Court-House in the town of Clinton on the first day of the next April term, to answer a certain presentment of the Grand Jury, against him found at the October term, 1839 for failing to keep clean of obstruction and in good repair that part of the public road from the house of said Hardin to the county line where the road leading from Town of Clinton to (Felicy?) as he being the overseer of said precinct against the peace and dignity of the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and have then & there this writ. Witness, WHH Taylor, Clerk of our said Court, at the Court-house aforesaid, this 21 day of November 1839 and in the 48 year of the Commonwealth. WHH Taylor
