Robert Hopson Binford Family
Robert H. Binford was born in Moscow, Hickman Co., Kentucky,
April 9, 1836; was brought by his mother in 1838 to Fulton County were
he lived the rest of his life. His father, Robert Binford, was born near
Richmond, Virginia, removed to Kentucky in 1827 and died in 1838. He was
the son of Thomas S. Binford of Virginia. Subject's mother, Mary A., daughter
of Gideon Jarrett of Rutherford County, Tennessee, died in 1879 at the
age of 75 years. To her and her husband were born, Gideon J., Mary R. (Walgamott),
subject and Pinkney S. G. February 3, 1858 subject married Miss Sarah P.,
daughter of Lunsford and Frances (Bird) White of Fulton County and to them
have been born Pinkney L., Gertrude (Robinson), Harriet T. (Aunt Hattie),
Alonzo, Atlanta (died in early childhood), Virginia B. and a twin brother
Walter, Lucian R., Charles W., Pompey, Mary Inez (Aunt Daisy and Earle.
He was a farmer and extensive livestock trader, riding horseback
all over his native section. His farm consisted of 184 acres of valuable
and productive land well improved. He was am ancient odd fellow and a Democrat.
