Susannah Mosby to/deed Strother Kendall
This indenture made this twelfth day of
August Eighteen Hundred and Forty One between Susannah Mosby widow of Wade Mosby
dec’d of Virginia on the one part and Strother Kendall of the other part of
the County of Fleming and State of Kentucky witnesseth that the said Susannah
Mosby for and in consideration of the sum of forty dollars to her in hand the
receipt whereof is herby acknowledged has granted bargained and sold and by
these presents doth grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Strother
Kendall his heirs and assigns all her dower in a tract or parcel of land
situated and being in the county of Fleming on the water of Fleming Creek
containing one hundred and twenty two acres and fifty poles and bounded as
follows to wit. Beginning at a
beech tree in Harper (?) line and
running thence South 70 degrees East 89 poles to a stone then North 81 degrees
East 99 poles to a beech tree thence North 10 degrees East 78 poles to a beech
and sugar tree thence North 70 degrees West 161 poles to a stone and beech tree
in Bishops line thence South 19 West 126-1/2 poles to the beginning.
Together with all and singular the premises belonging or in any wise
assertaining. To have and to hold
the land hereby conveyed and the appurtenances unto the said Susannah Mosby for
herself and her heirs and assigns the above described tract of land and premises
unto the said Strother Kendall his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims
of all and every person or persons whatsoever claiming under him.
Shall and will forever warrant and defend by these present.
In witness whereof the said Susannah Mosby has hereunto set her hand
& seal the day and date above written.

aforesaid certify that this deed from Susannah Mosby to Strother Kendall was
this day produced before me and determined by Joseph Patterson her attorney in
