STATE OF KENTUCKY, FAYETTE COUNTY. June 7-1832. Personally
appeared above
mentioned soldier, a resident of Fayette Co, aged 71; that he
enlisted in the army of the U.S. in 1776 or 1777 with Capt. Geo
Stubblefield, and served in the 5th Va, regiment of the Va line
under the following officers, Col Josiah Parker, Lt. Col or Major
Davis, Capt Geo Stubblefield, Lt. Robert Dudley, 2nd Lt. Peter
Minor, and Ensign Winslow, he left the service two years after his
said enlistment, when he entered the service, he lived in
Spottsylvania Co, Va. he was at the taking of the H____ in Trenton, the Battle of Germantown and Brandywine, marched
from
Spottsylvania to Williamsburg, then to Little York where he took
water at
the Head of Elk, that we then joined the main army.
