     He states that he is a resident of Fayette County Kentucky, that he is age 63, that he enlisted in August 1776, discharged August 1779. That he enlisted in Hanover County, Virginia, that he has served under Capt Crump, and in the regiment first commanded by Col. Reed? or Richard? then by Col Richard Parker – that he was first in the Battle of the White Plains Dec 1776 at Princeton and also Battle of Brandywine and Germantown, states that he has resided in Kentucky for twenty years.


          David Allen personally appeared in open court, June term 1820, age 65. He said he served first in John Sears Company and then in Captain Guthridge Crump’s Company, First Virginia Regiment, commanded in 1776 by Col. Reed in General Muhlenberg’s Brigade on Continental establishment, the original declaration made in 1818 April 18th.

 

          He states that he has no family living with him, that he has eight children, all of whom have left him.
