William Adams, aged 50, resident of Lexington, KY deposes. Enlisted 1779 at Ft. Stanwick, New York in company of Captain Hicks of 1st N.Y. regiment commanded by Col Corp? a Dutchman, to serve as fifer for a period of the war - served until 1782 - was in battles of Yorktown and skirmishes with Indians.

     July 13-1821 Wm Adams makes oath to his property schedule says he has lately lost his wife by death and has no family but one son, he does not keep house, and has nothing but his clothes. Inscribed on Kentucky roll at $8 per month to begin July 10th 1818 - This pension paper contains 9 pages, 6 of which are essential.

     In 1818, age 50, a resident of Lexington, Fayette Co, Ky, he applied for pension. He enlisted under Captain Hicks, 1st N.Y. regiment, commanded by Col Gooser, Rose Vainscate, a Dutchman as a fifer, for during the war. Continued to serve until 1783? That he was in the battle of Yorktown, he was discharged near New Windsor, that he sent in his original declaration 1818 July and his pension certificate No. 8568. that he had lately lost his wife (1821) and that he does not keep house, that he has only one son [name not given].
