MCCHORD CHURCH
The 2d Presbyterian church was founded in 1815, and was
originally known as Market-street church. This name was
afterwards changed to that which it now bears as a tribute of
respect to the first Pastor, the late gifted and brilliant James
McChord. After his decease, the Rev. John Breckenridge,
D.D. was elected pastor, in 1823; who was succeeded in 1829, by
Rev. John C. Young, now President of Centre College; and
in 1831 the Rev. Robert Davidson was chosen pastor, who
continues to fill the office. The officers of the church at

This institution was
organized by the Physicians and Surgeons of this city, and a
constitution adopted on the 18th December, 1835, and chartered by
the Legislature of Kentucky on the 25th February, 1836.
The object of the association, as expressed in the constitution
and act of incorporation, are to promote the cause of medical
science, and to encourage order and harmony in the ranks of the
Medical Profession.
It is composed of Regular, Honorary and Corresponding Members, to
whom certificates of membership are granted.
The officer[s] are a President, Vice-President, four Censors, a
Secretary and a Treasurer.
The regular meeting are held on the 1st Tuesday evening in a
month.

Old Line, Office at the Phoenix Hotel.

Louisville via Versailles,--a stage leaves every morning at 4
o'clock, and a return stage by the same route arrives at 10
o'clock every night.
Maysville via Paris, Millersburg, and Blue Lick,-- a stage leaves
every morning at 1 o'clock, and one at 11 A.M., and the return
stages from the same place arrives at 3 o'clock P.M. and 8
o'clock P.M.
Nashville via Nicholasville, Shakertown and Harrodsburgh,
(sametime to Bears Station,) every day at 4 o'clock A.M.
Owingsville via Winchester and Mount Sterling, a stage leaves
every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 4 o'clock A.M.
Cincinnati via Georgetown and Williamstown, a stage leaves every
day at 9 o'clock A.M.
Richmond, a stage leaves every other day at 4 o'clock P.M.
