The Richmond Register, Tuesday, February 11, 2003 James Puckett, 77, of Fike Road, Waco, went to his eternal reward on Monday morning, Feb. 10, 2003, after a brief illness. He was born February 28, 1925, in Estill County, but had lived the majority of his life at College Hill and Waco. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Greenbriar Baptist Church in Estill County. Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his parents, John Allen and Lizzie Crouch Puckett; one brother, Orville Puckett; three sisters, Polly Puckett, Laura Johnson and Sudie Mays; and two grandchildren, John Kevin Puckett and Karol Lynette Puckett. Mr. Puckett is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ethel McIntosh Puckett; one son, John (Ann) Puckett of Richmond; two daughters, Connie (Clifton) Hatton and Debra K. (Bruce) Hall, both of Waco; two grandsons, Tim (Tina) Puckett of Richmond and Brian (Jamie) Puckett of Lexington; one granddaughter, Jusstine Hatton of Waco; one great-granddaughter, Jennifer Puckett of Richmond; one great-granddaughter on the way; one brother, Willard (Mary) Puckett of Irvine; four sisters, Idea Bea (James) West and Beatrice West, both of Irvine, Sally (Harold) Markland of Mt. Sterling, Jenny Berry of Richmond; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at the Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dale Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the College Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Collins, Bob Collins, Jerry Collins, Mike Collins, Tom Collins, Harold Johnson, and Brian Puckett. Honorary pallbearers will include Bruce Hall. |
