Geneva Harreld, 81, 1525 Timberview Drive, died at 11:41 p.m. Friday in
Wesleyan Health Care.
She was born in Estell County, Ky., to the late Christopher and Mary Ethhel
(Smith) Lamb and had lived most of her life in the Marion and LaFontaine
areas. She married James W. Harreld, who preceded her in death Nov. 29,
1983.
Mrs. Harreld retired from Hills Department Store and also had been a cook at
Marion General Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She loved being with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Ronald E. (Arlene) Harreld, Fries, Va.; daughters;
Jo Ellen (Billy) Berry and Karen Hettig, both of Marion; sisters, Emily
Weaver, Marion, and Sally Schafer, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters; and six siblings.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service,
North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., with the Rev. Edward Fritz officiating.
Burial is in Gardens of Memory cemetery, Huntington County. Visitation is
from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
