*30 March 1945 [Killed]. PFC Elmer Winburn, died of wounds received on 9 Feb 1945. Died in German Prison Cmp. Reported Missing in Action since December 1944. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlen B. Winburn.
*30 March 1945 [Killed]. PFC Lloyd D. Tudor while fighting the Japanese on Iwo Jima. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Tudor of Shade. [Estill Co.]
*13 April 1945 [Missing in Action]. Cpl. Hobart Osborne in Germany since 20th March. Son of Mrs. Nettie B. Osborne of Lieghton [Estill Co.]. 25 May newspaper states he was killed in Germany on 20th March. Nettie was his wife.
*13 April 1945 [Killed]. Lt. Dan Hollan on Luzon, Phillippines Island. He was formerly of Irvine. Parents Mr. and Mrs. John Hollan of Jackson, Breathitt Co.
*13 April 1945 [Killed]. PVT James Raymond Flynn in Germany on 25th March. Parents Mrs. Laura Flynn, and his father resides at Lexington. He was the 2nd son to be killed. His brother, Turner, killed 6 July 1944.
*27 April 1945 [Killed]. Sgt. Harold G. Hackworth on 11th April in England. He was a gunner of a B24 Liberator Bomber. Wife Doris J. Robertson Hackworth of Irvine. Parents Mr. and Mrs. G. Hackworth of Ravenna.
*27 April 1945 [Killed]. PFC S. H. Tipton. Died of wounds in Germany on 9th April. Son of Mrs. Inis E. Tipton.
*27 April 1945 [Killed]. Worthly Tipton of U. S. Navy, killed in the South Pacific on 31st January. He formerly lived in Irvine. His sister Mrs. B. K. Crouch, another sister Juanita Tipton of Waltersville.
*4 May 1945 [Killed]. PVT Floyd Tudor on Iwo Jima on 22nd February. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Sam D. Tudor.
*4 May 1945. PFC William I. Horn Jr. of the U. S. Marines died of his wounds at Guam on 23rd April.
