Logan Withers, was killed in action in Korea, according to word received here this week on Monday by a brother, Rollie Withers. Withers is the first Estill County casualty reported in the Korean conflict.
Besides his brother here he is survived by several other brothers and sisters. Mrs. Edie Adams Duke of Irvine, is on of the sisters.

PVT. WM. A. TUTTLE IS KILLED IN GERMANY
Mr. and Mrs. W. R. [Bill] Tuttle, of Witt Springs, were notified by a telegram last week that their son, Pvt. William Aaron Tuttle, had been killed in a motor vehicle accident in Germany on Sunday, November 25.
Besides the parents the youth is survived by two sisters, Helen Ruth Tuttle, a student at Estill High School, and Mrs. Louise Colwell, of Patsey, Estill County.

RAYMOND T. ROSS KILLED IN KOREA
Mrs. Gracie Ross, Hargett, received a message last week from the War Department informing her of the death of her son, Cpl. Raymond T. Ross, on the battle field in Korea on September 6.
Cpl. Ross enlisted in the army about two years ago. He received his training at Camp Breckinridge and served overseas 15 months.
Besides his mother he is survived by father, Fred Ross, and one sister, Kelsie Ross, Irvine.

Estill Soldier, In Services For Two Years, Is Killed in Action In Korea, Sept. 11, 1950.
The remains of Pfc. Henry F. Edmondson, who was killed in action in Korea on September 11, 1951, at the age of 20, were brought here by train from Jersey City, New Jersey, with a military escort Thursday afternoon, August 9.
Pfc. Edmondson enlisted in the Army over two years ago and was in Japan when the war broke out in Korea.
Surviving him are his father, George Edmondson Newport; his mother, Mrs. Simp Richardson, of Fox; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Tipton, Union City; Mrs. Minerva Canter, Newport, and Mrs. Viola Baker, Cincinnati, Ohio and two brothers, Newton and William Edward Edmondson, of Union City.

PRISONER OF CHINESE
Mr. and Mrs. James Brinegar, of South Irvine, have finally received a letter from their son, Pfc. Lucian Brinegar, who was captured by the North Koreans and Chinese in the Korean fighting on April 27.
Pfc. Brinegar was permitted to write home and his letter dated August 6, was received the past week. He has now been removed to Perking, China, and lodged in a prisoner's camp. His letter stated that he was being well cared for. Pfc. Brinegar entered the service November 3, 1950.
