Berilla (Whitney) Jacobs (Mrs. Nathan Jacobs, Jr.) was born March 7, 1804, in Marlboro, Windham County, Vermont; she died July 11, 1898, in Estill County, Kentucky. She and Nathan Jacobs, whom she married in 1823 in Vermont, were the parents of 10 children. She is buried in the Witt-Gould Cemetery at Witt Springs in Estill County. Her descendants may be interested to know she was a "second cousin, once removed" of Eli Whitney, inventor of the cotton gin.
