Woodwards Creek Church CemeteryAccording to the cemetery book done by Tracy Patrick, this cemetery is located about one mile from Hargett along the Hargett-Parvin Road. It's one of the oldest cemeteries in the county. From information found in old deeds, it appears this cemetery was next to the Woodwards Creek Church. This area was one of the first settlements in the county. The Sams Post Office stood here as well as a general store and houses. There is quite a bit of broken earthenware in the area which would also suggest there was once a pottery business in this area as well. There may be as many as 100 unmarked graves here, but only one stone remains in the cemetery.
