News Story

Mrs. Rebecca Guess
Seriously Burned

Crittenden Press - Nov. 27, 1925

Mrs. Rebecca Guess was seriously and perhaps fataily
burned just before noon Wednesday. Mrs. Guess was
in a room alone at her home on Cherry street, when it
is thought her clothing caught fire from the grate. Her
daughter, Mrs. Sophia Guess heard her mother call and
rushed to her, finding her nearly unconscious
in her chair with her clothing blazing.
When the fire was extinguished and medical attention
summoned it was found the burns were of a very serious
nature. Due to Mrs. Guess age she being 76 years old
the burns may have fatal results.
