James M. Walker
was born May 14, 1843 in Crittenden County, Kentucky
He enlisted as a Private on November 29, 1861 in Co. E, 48th Illinois Infantry.
He is described in regimental records as 5'9" tall, fair complexion, gray eyes, and dark hair.
He is listed as a resident of Marion at the time of his enlistment.
He was mustered out as a Corporal on September 15, 1865.
He died March 12, 1924 and was buried in the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Crittenden County.

Tom Wallace was born in Crittenden County, Kentucky, on May 8, 1841, the son of Arthur H. Wallace and Letitia Preston Hart.
He was reared and educated in Louisville, Ky.
When the War Between the States came on he was engaged with A.D. Kelly & Co. of New Orleans, of which firm his father was a retired partner.
He joined the Crescent Regiment CSA, and was with that command at Fort Donelson.
He escaped by putting on Federal clothes and obtaining from General Grant a pass through Federal lines.
He then joined Gen. Basil Duke's regiment, rising from a Private to a Captaincy.
After the war closed he engaged in steamboating on the Ohio River.
In 1867 he was married to Miss Mary Dade, of Christian County, and settled on a farm inherited from his father.
He moved his family to Shelbyville in September 1866.
His wife died soon afterwards, leaving him with five children: Mrs. Clarence D. Boyd, of Nashville, Hart and Tom Wallace, Jr., Misses Mary Dade and Lea.
About 1897 he married Miss Mary Adair Bermondy, of Shelbyville, a granddaughter of Gov. Adair.
Tom was a charter member of the John H. Wallace Camp # 237, United Confederate Veterans, of Shelbyville.
He was a well-known breeder and dealer of horses.
He died March 6, 1899.

Horace Williamson was born December 25, 1844 in Wilson County, Tennessee
He served in Co. I, 1st Helm's Ky. Cavalry & Co. G, 4th Ky. Infantry CSA.
He died October 30, 1916 near Mexico, Ky.
He married Rhoda Catherine Asbridge at Golconda, Illinois.
She was born March 3, 1841 in Lyon County, Ky.
In 1917, she drew Widow's Pension # 3708, filing from Crittenden County, Ky.

Henry M. Winders attorney at law of Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Ill. and is a son of Francis M. Winders, who was born May 30, 1822 in Crittenden County, Ky. and brought up on a farm with no education whatever.
He removed to Illinois in 1844, settling on a farm in Hardin County and was married two years later to Elizabeth J. Scarbrough, of Tennessee, by whom he had two children: Sylvester, deceased, and Henry M.
The latter was born April 14, 1848, in Hardin County and was brought up on the farm, working in the summer and attending school in the wintertime.
When war was declared between the North and the South, Henry M. enlisted, July 27, 1863 in Company D, 48th Ky. Mounted Infantry and served the cause of the Union until December 16, 1864, when he was mustered out at Bowling Green, Ky.
The principle service performed by this regiment was that of guarding the Louisville and Nashville railroad.
After peace was declared he returned to Hardin County and engaged in teaching school, following that profession for 14 years.
He lived on the farm until 1886 when he moved to Elizabethtown and began the study of law under the instruction of John Q. A. Ledbetter, being admitted to the Bar in August of 1891, after which he immediately began active practice.
He was married November 12, 1876 to Mrs. Mary F. Irion, widow of G.D. Irion, her maiden name was Mary F. Lamb.
Mr. Winders is a member of Masonic Lodge #276 and is also a member of Post # 565 GAR
